Big Moves Made!

Today I reduced the overall risk in my portfolio; within my IRA. Many stocks had way too much concentration. By doing this I free’d up some cash and used it to purchase different stocks to reduce my investment risk.

Recent additions to my IRA are:

  • ABBV
    • 32 SHARES @ $94.7208 = $3031.07
  • ALX
    • 7 SHARES @ $421.5156 = $2950.61
  • BABA
    • 10 SHARES @ $189.719 = $1897.19
  • BP
    • 80 SHARES @ $39.996  = $3199.68
  • CINF
    • 38 SHARES @ $72.6881 = $2762.15

  • CSCO
    • 79 SHARES @ $36.62 = $2892.98
  • CVS
    • 38 SHARES @ $70.562 = $2681.36
  • IRM
    • 20 SHARES @ $41.1786 = $823.57
  • FTRPR

  • HCP

    • 40 SHARES @ $25.6967 = $1027.87
  • STOR
    • 86 SHARES @ $26.135 = $2247.61

Recent Dividends include:

  • FAST – $8.00

I am extremely satisfied with my updated IRA portfolio. Still on the grind to keep those dividends increasing while remembering not to be too focused on any 1 stock.

New Bitcoin Addition

I wish I was there earlier! Like 7 or so years ago! I have been looking and looking for some bitcoin to buy; but at a much more reasonable price for me. That search found Bitcoin Invt Tr (GBTC), which is a fund. Which was recently created as a more affordable version of Bitcoin (BTC).

I was able to get 8 shares of GBTC @ $921 per share on 11/17/2017. It is currently sitting at $960 per share at the time of this post.

I reduced my position in GLPI and O to allow this. By doing so also helped to diversify my portfolio weighting concentrations.

Even though my Estimated Annual Income reduced (for now) to $8993.01 I know it’s always good to rebalance your holdings to keep your goals. My annual income will be back in no time!

My recent dividends are:

AAPL – $6.35

SIR – $106.59

GOV – $115.24 , $3.87

CAT – $7.80 , $30.42

These recent dividends add up to $270.27

GE Cuts Dividend!

GE cut dividends this week. The stock lost over 40% of its value this year. GE was paying out a dividend of $0.24 but recently cut the dividend by 50%. This is quite a slash in dividend income for the people who are invested for such (like me). Many investors are unhappy as the stock price continues to reflect by the steady decrease in price.

  • I sold my position of 53 shares for $989.83 and used those funds to add to my position of GOV.
  • I was able to purchase 52 shares of GOV @ $18.7681 for $980.89.

Before adding to my GOV position, GE was paying me an annual estimated income of $50.88. But by slashing their dividend down to $0.12 per share, my estimated annual income dropped down to $25.44. I am glad to have found Government Properties Income Trust (GOV) because their stock price is currently $18.74 and pay a dividend of $0.43!

  • I now have 320 shares of GOV and my estimated annual income from them increased from $460.96 to $550.40.

This brings my new overall estimated annual income total to $9,439.97 The number continues to grow.

Higher and Higher!

My most recent dividend payments are from Clorox (CLX) and Lowe’s (LOW) in my Individual account.

CLX paid out $8.40

LOW paid out $22.55

I also added to my position of AT&T (T) in my #1 IRA account while the stock price has been dropping.

  • T – 8 shares @ 32.9765 to equal $263.81. I used the dividends that had already been paid to me.

In my #2 IRA I changed my positions to a fund approach. I sold my 5 positions and purchased 937 shares of PGX. This should pay out about $809.57 in dividends per year.

My new estimated annual income is now sitting at $9,401.41.

Let’s Try This Again

Yesterday I decided to give Trivago (TRVG) another try. I personally feel like once everything settles down there will be a lot of growth. This stock was very bullish opening around $11 and once people doubled their money from the IPO they started to sell, sell, sell. Trivago’s current stock price reflects a steep decline down to $8 from it’s high of over $24! This has really hurt the outlook on this company. At this time they are not paying dividends and this is still a fresh company; which had it’s IPO in December of 2016. I remain optimistic (which is why I took on a small position) and shall be holding for the future. I added

  • TRVG – 14 shares @ $8.99 = $125.85

November Has Started And I Want To Get Paid!

Today I checked my account to see more dividends recently deposited into my accounts. I was shocked because the month of October has just finished up and I wasn’t expecting more earnings so soon. I received today:

T – $73.50 + $69.58

VZ – $2.95 + $61.95

DE – $6.00

GIS – $22.05

We are only 1 day into November and I am already pushing close to my total earnings for the month of October. My total payout for November so far is $236.03. Off to a great start.

Don’t forget to stop by and check out my new totals for the year; which are updated on my Passive Income By Year page.

October Is Over! On To November!

October is finally wrapped up and I have calculated all of my earnings for the month. This is by no means a power month for me. It is one of the months where I do not earn that much dividend income. But some is better than none. I will be analyzing more stocks to see how I can strengthen my dividend payout months of January, April, July, and October. After those months, I will work on increasing dividends on the months of February, May, August, November. I forgot to mention that I had also purchased Altria Group Inc (MO) on 09/26/2017 but it seems as though I missed the record date of 09/15/2017; which caused me to miss the dividend payout for the month of October. Looks like I will have to wait until December for the next payout of MO.

Today (10.31.2017) I added a new position to my portfolio.

New Position Added

  • FTR – FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS CORP
    • 22 SHARES @ $11.9925

Recent Dividends Received

  • PGX – $12.22
  • GE – $12.72
  • DG – $7.02

TOTAL = $31.96

Due to adding 22 shares of Frontier Communications Corp (FTR) I increased my estimated annual income by $52.80! Most noteworthy, this new position takes my estimated annual income from $8,924.80 to $8977.60. Great increase here. Just from mid-October to the month’s end, I saw an overall portfolio decrease of $2,875.68. I really hope FTR can maintain their 20% yield and the overall stock market will continue to increase in value from here on out.
